Having married late last year, Adam and Nicky Smith were looking for a three bedroom house with a rural outlook, a convenient location – and enough room for themselves and their two dogs. Working in Land and New Homes for Countrywide Estate Agents, Adam was already aware of Southcott Homes’ exemplary reputation within the industry and acted quickly when he heard the company was building The Brook, a small development of ten 2- and 3-bed homes in Waltham Chase.

Elaborating on their choice, Adam comments, “Knowing what I already knew about Southcott Homes and their build quality, The Brook was at the top of our wishlist. Seeing the location and viewing a similar property nearing completion on another Southcott development simply helped confirm our decision and we reserved off-plan. What with local connections and the fact that we were spending much of our free time in the area, Waltham Chase was exactly where we wanted to be – it’s great to have places like Swanmore, Bishops Waltham and Wickham right on our doorstep.”

“The fact that the development comprised of just ten houses also helped.” adds Nicky. “Now that we’ve moved in, we can truly appreciate how peaceful it is here – unlike many modern developments, the houses at The Brook are well spaced and you don’t feel hemmed in at all. We particularly love the walled garden… our outlook is so green and tranquil.”

Reserving off-plan also gave the couple an added advantage, as they were closely involved in choosing finishes and specifications in their new home, as Adam notes, “Although the sales team and site manager were clearly very busy, nothing was too much trouble – dealing with Southcott Homes was a breeze from start to finish.”

And what has surprised them about their new home? Adam: “It seems trivial, but all the spotlights and downlighters in the property are LED, with a ten year guarantee. If any of them fail within this time, they’ll be replaced for free. All I ever did in our previous home seemed to be replacing kitchen spotlight bulbs, so that’s a definite bonus!”
